Sule Gazioglu Art & Design presents
Ayşe Turemis’s Exhibition titled “Colors Pouring into Water”
Sule Gazioglu Art & Design celebrates the opening of its new gallery located in Boyacikoy with Ayse Turemis’s new exhibition titled “Colours Pouring into Water” on 25th of September, 2021.
25.09.2021 – 16.10.2021
“Colours Pouring into Water” is an exhibition about the neighborhoods of the Bosphorus that occupies a significant place in the architectural and cultural legacy of Istanbul and the life flourishing around them. The exhibition is meeting art-lovers with a special collection that came to life as a result of the combination of the visions of Ayse Turemis and Sule Gazioglu Art & Design to protect this unique legacy.
Depicting herself as an admirer for the exquisite atmosphere of Istanbul, the artist Ayse Turemis aims to record the architectural and cultural treasures of the city through watercolor technique. With her “Colours Pouring into Water” exhibition, Turemis meets art-lovers with an archive work vis-à-vis the colorful and rich life that is shaped around the Bosphorus.
With mansions, ferries, piers, and details neglected in the ever-changing city life, “Colours Pouring into Water” exhibition unearths again the elements of the life around the Bosphorus that fade into oblivion within the framework of a meticulous selection through impressive light and color techniques of watercolor.
In her works, Ayse Turemis appears with a fresh perspective instead of idealized depictions. Differently from the customary fictional narratives of the Bosphorus, she observes the life around the Bosphorus through a contemporary and refined perspective and transfers it onto paper. In this context, Turemis displays an approach that tries to present architectural details, the period and style properties of the structures, and the texture of the materials used with all their natural aspects. Her works include a volatile atmosphere as well as a realistic one, where she uses a plain color range and displays her artistic language with light and shadow maneuvers.
